As these will be our last Breed Notes before the New Year, Michael and I would like to wish our readers a Happy Holiday and the same for the New Year. With the contributions I have received from the ‘dog community’ I have hoped that readers have found the notes informative and sometimes provocative. It all makes for stimulating reading.
A few more judges have been approved for Championship Shows. Judging Driffield 2017, awarding CCs for the first time is Jill Cross. Judges that have been approved for 2018 are Mark Cocozza at Three Counties, Marie Bryce-Smith at South Wales, Zola Rawson at Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club Championship Show and finally, Kathy Webb at LKA.
Reading the SGHC show critique for bitches, which appeared in this paper a couple of weeks ago, I feel I must stick my awe in. This is in no way a criticism of the judge but a clarification of a very important point. Credit must be given where credit is due. All the behind the scene organization and preparation work for the show was done by David Steel in the helm. He has had to take on a mammoth task, which he has refined to a fine art.
