Congratulations to Mary Sanders Parker for being awarded ‘Top Breeder’ for Salukis in the Our Dogs/ Arden Grange leader board. She has had a very successful year with her dogs, winning 49 points. In the Hound Group she has come second to Sara and Gavin Robertson and their Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit). Top Sud dog in the Our Dogs/Purina Beta leader board is Rosalie Brady’s Ch Classicus Azim for Bodercot. A big thank you to Jeanette Glaister for the book auction she hosted on behalf of the SGHC for Centennial funds. She made £492.00. Thank you to all those people who have donated items for selling and those people who have purchased items. This is a wonderful way of recycling Saluki items that have been enjoyed and now someone else can also enjoy them. Previously I posted information about a health survey on Salukis that the KC was circulating. We never received any communications regarding this from the KC so I have contacted John Davies our health guru. In reply he has sent the following:” “SALUKI HEALTH SURVEY. You should, by now, have received the survey request from the Kennel Club. It would seem that some people have not yet received communication from the KC. If you have not yet received your request you can complete the survey for each saluki using link: https://email.thekennelclub.org.uk/52XO-NE4D.../cr.aspx All information received by the KC is kept completely confidential (I don't get to see it either). What I do receive is the anonymised, overall results of health conditions across the breed. Once I have received this I shall publish it on FB and through SGHC and NSC club secretaries. Please complete the survey as completely as possible, and encourage anyone else with a saluki to do so also. The results will help define the help that the Kennel Club give Salukis in the future.” The Kennel Club Charitable Trust continues to support UKRAINE together with the KC, the Charitable Trust will hold a Grand Auction over the 4 Day period of CRUFTS. Your kind donations will be much appreciated. Please go to the KC CHARITABLE TRUST Web pages for directions. I hope nearer the time to pass on details on where and what time the Auction will take place. In some past years a KC Auction took place at every Crufts and were very popular; occasional Saluki items were donated. here to edit.
