SALUKI BREED NOTES WEEKENDING 22ND JULY 2022.

Once again the ‘big news’ is the weather.  We are all hiding out here, in the house, with fans going.  Thankfully by the time you read these notes we shall be back to some kind of normal again.  At least there is not any snow to shovel or ice to watch out for, which would be the case if this was a winter emergency.  Just hot.

There has been an announcement that there is a change of judge for Driffield Championship show.  Graham Hill will now not be judging instead Margaret Fulcher will officiate in his place.

Two Championship Shows to review this week.  The first show is East of England Agricultural Society Championship Show with ‘breed specialist’ Elaine Stanmore judging.  BCC, BOB for her second CC went to Jazalle Aneeqa owned by the Dann, Ireson, Farris & Cosentini partnership with the RBCC to Mary Sanders Parker’s Ch Classicus Olympia.  DCC, for his third CC, at 10 years of age from the Veteran Class is Liz Stephen’s Alshara Aslam Bedu.  He was born on the 31st March 2012.  His breeder is the late Sue Bounds. His sire is Sufeina Al Ain and his dam Bedu Delphine of Alsahara.  RDCC went to Roaslie Brady’s Ch Classicus Azim for Bordercot.  Best Puppy was Mary Sanders Parker’s Classicus Felicitas and Best Veteran was Alshara Aslan Bedu.

The second show, The Hound Show, was a celebration which included ‘Hats for Hounds’ organized by Caroline Pickering.  Along with a colourful display of hats was a cake with all the names of the recently made-up champions, nine to be precise.  From what I saw there was lots of prosecco to wash down the cake.  So pleased everyone had such a lovely day. Judging Salukis was Maggie Holder (Irish Wolfhounds).  It was pretty much a family day for Classicus Salukis.  BCC, BOB went to Mary Sanders Parker\s Ch Classicus Olympia with RBCC to Kathy Williams’ Tigisile Totally Unique.  DCC, went to Cathy Harding & Naomi Cowley”s Ch Classicus Odysseus at Ashahni with the RDCC to Rosalie Brady’s Ch Classicus Azim for Bordercot. Best Puppy was Mary Sanders Parker’s Classicus Felicita,
Best Veteran & 2nd in Veteran Group went to Kathy Williams’ Ch Ulmarra Tropical Ice at Winton VW.  Best special Beginner went to Lynda Wards’s Caryna Manantena at Bactor. Wonderful to see everyone having fun.
