Last weekend 3-Counties Championship Show was held and judging us was Mr Mark Cocozza. DCC, BOB went to a new face that has been knocking on the door.  That is Victoria Martin’s Canerikie Vivaldi for Stalwart JW ShCM.  He was born on 25th August 2016 and his breeders are Mr B Mansel and Mrs J Duddell.  His sire is Ch Jorjenjo Mirza of Fernlark JW and dam, Ch Jasmine of Canerikie (IMP ITA).  RDCC went to Mrs S Sawer’s Canerikie Lucan at Bumpkiss.  BCC went to the Mansell, Duddell & Johnston’s Ch Canerikie Catalina with RBCC to Elaine Sydney’s Multi Ch Daxlore Harani of Shaybani Esp J Ch.  Best Puppy was Steve and Ann Ham’s newly imported Aus Ch Crisnick Houdini (IMP AUS) TAF, NAF. Well done all!

On Saturday the SGHC held the 2018 Open Show with the new Committee in charge for their first event.  Judging us was Lorraine Fitzgerald of Dawnchase Salukis and Greyhounds.  She had an excellent entry of 56 Salukis dogs with 62 entries.  The Committee would like to thank everyone for entering their dogs for this ‘special show’.  The Open Show has always been the garden party show of the Club, this year was no different.  The weather was perfect for the dogs, just comfortable warm.  Helena Haywood had organized the photo competition for the 2019 calendar.  She had an entry of 72 beautiful photos.  The calendar will be available at the Champ show in October to purchase.  Helena also organized the ‘welfare table’ with the help of her granddaughter Jessica.  I understand business was brisk so I will report the takings in the future.  Caroline and John Owen had their hands busy, for the first time in many years, we had the winners of the Club Points Trophies.  A big thank you to Daphne Parnham for correlated the points.  A least the Owen’s trip home was easier with less trophies to take.

For the first time to my knowledge the Dobermann Club’s clubhouse had a jazz café, thanks to Berni Hetherington.  Coffee, teas and cakes were available in very convivial atmosphere.  People were coming all day long to sit, chat and enjoy all the beautiful cakes.  We thank all the individuals that kindly donated the cakes.  It will certainly help in the funding of the day.

The business part of the day, Best in Show was Ch Fernlark By Design owned by Kevin and Michelle Goulden with the Best Bitch, Reserve Best in Show and Best of Opposite Sex to our own Al Zubeyda Lena At Kasaque (IMP FRA) JW.  Reserve Best Dog and winner of the Jonathan Langley Horsell Rescue Stakes was Victoria Martin’s Canerikie Vivaldi for Stalwart JW ShCM with reserved Best Best Bitch  and Best Veteran in Show to Ch Anasha Al Nousharfarin ShCM owned by Diane Layton-Smith.  Best Puppy was Fernlark Odyssey owned By Dr P Postma and Mr D Smith.  Best Smooth was Karen Fisher’s Ruweis Isad who also won the Special Open for sire or dam to have been imported from country of origin.  Best brace went to Mrs D Layton-Smith.

After the judging was fabulous bring and share meal.  Again I thank everyone that contributed to our delicious finale of a wonderful day.
