Received a copy of The Kennel Club’s Breed Record Supplement from April to June 2018.  There were two litters registered making 8 puppies.  One litter was for 7 puppies.  Both affix’s were familiar to me.  Three importations, Ulmarra Bombay (GKC), from the Channel Island owned by Mrs W M A Marshall. Yalameh Samir Aza Nefisa (IMP DEU) from Germany
owned by Mr. S.J. Macro and Mrs. J.M. Macro. Lastly is Yalameh Shasmeen At Monardie (IMP DEU) also from Germany and owned by Mrs. H. Haywood.
There are two re-imports Daxlore Harani of Shaybani owned by Mrs E Sydney, origin Spain and Sivendra Dayyah At Dragonsmoon owned by Mr I.D. & Mrs C.J. Havercroft from Bermuda.  For the first 6 months of 2017 there were 49 Saluki puppies registered and for 2018 we are looking at 21.

Two new Champions Hislome’s Keepsake for Cranstal (IMP SWE) owned by Mr P. & Mrs. E.A. Shimmin and Hislome’s Leonore Mish Cranstal (IMP SWE).
also owned by the Shimmins.  One Certificate of Merit to Vivaldi for Stalwart owned by Mrs. V. C. Martin.

Mary Parker has kindly sent the following”The World Dog Show this year was held in Amsterdam at the RAI Building. The cluster of shows associated with the WDS began on Thursday 9thAugust with The Benelux Winner, the judge was Graham Hill from the UK. His BOB and Benelux Winner with CACIB & CAC was Damira Al Naqawa owned and bred by Svetlana Panova from Germany, BOS, Benelux Veteran Winner and CAC was Ch Classicus Cassander JW Sh.CM owned by Jeannette Glaister and bred by me. Best Minor Puppy was Classicus Alron owned by Nikki Skinner and bred by me. Other British owned dogs competing were Ch Vanechka Otis S Berega Turi JW Sh.CM owned by Jeannette Glaister and bred by Ms E Polemkin, who was placed exc-2 in the Open class, Classicus Britannia JW Sh.CM owned and bred by me, was placed exc-3 in the Open class and Classicus Antiigone, also owned and bred by me, was very promising 1 in the Minor Puppy bitch class.
It was also lovely to see Nicola Quadling showing her Chinese Crested Prefix Alfred Nobel at Malenkhai win the RCAC.

Friday 10thAugust was the Eurosighthound show, held at the same venue; the judge was Mr W Buitenkamp from the Netherlands. He found his BOB, CAC and Eurosighthound Winner in Ch Vanechka Otis S Berega Turi JW Sh.CM. BOS with CAC was Ch Amal Hayati Orayah Za’Nyah Al Sahra owned and bred in Belgium by Sven Elen. Veteran Eurosighthound Winner and RCAC was Ch Classicus Cassander JW Sh.CM and Best Minor Puppy was Classicus Alron, who went on to win Best Minor Puppy in Show. Classicus Antiigone was once again very promising 1 in Minor Puppy bitch.

Saturday 11thAugust was the WDS, the venue was incredibly busy, with very little space to walk and observe any of the rings. The judge for the WDS was Stelios Makaritis from Greece. He found his BOB in Ch Qirmizi Ovation owned by Nicklas Eriksson and bred in Sweden by Nicklas and Ingunn Solberg Eriksson, BOS was Ch Aziz Qismah, owned by Janette Jalkanen and bred in Finlnd by Stina and Janette Jalkanen. Best Minor puppy was Classicus Alron. British owned dogs did well again with Ch Classicus Cassander JW Sh.CM gaining exc-2 in Veteran, whilst Classicus Britannia JW Sh.CM was exc-4 in Open bitch, Classicus Barishnikov, owned by Linda Goss and bred by me was graded exc in open dog, as was Ch Vanechka Otis S Berega Turi JW Sh.CM, and Classicus Antiigone was again graded very promising 1 in Minor Puppy bitch.
Certainly a great few days, and an experience never to be forgotten.”

I have also received some of the results from Jeannette Glaister who attended  the World Show weekend in Amsterdam.  There were three shows, first day Benelux Show, second day the Specialty and the third day the actual World Show.  At the Benelux show, her Otis (Ch Vanechka Otis S Berega Turi (IMP RUS) JW SH CM  won 2ndin Open, graded excellent.  Dexter (Ch Classicus Cassander JW Sh CM) was 1stVeteran, won the double CAC and Best Veteran in Breed.  The judge was Mr. Graham Hill. At the Specialty Show, Otis was 1stin Open, CAC and BOB.  Dexter won the RCAC which because of the World Show became a full CAC and again was Best Veteran in Breed.  The judge was Stelios Makoritis from Greece.  At the Word Show Otis was graded excellent but unplaced and Dexter was 2ndin Veteran Class.  The judge at that show was Willem Buitenkamp from the Netherlands.  So to summarize Dexter returned home with 3 CACs with the title of FCI Euro Veteran Sighthound 2018  and Otis 2 CACs, FCI Euro Sighthound 2018.  Congratulations to them.

On Friday the Welsh Kennel Club held their Championship show. The weather was just perfect for showing and the showground was in excellent condition.  We had decided to make a short break and stayed the night before at the Caer Beris Manor Hotel. Pleased we did, as the hotel had the most beautiful walks along the river to take our dogs on.  Most importantly the dogs were welcomed throughout the hotel.  We had dinner the night before in the hotel’s restaurant and the dogs were allowed to accompany us.  Both of our girls behave impeccably though Salaama was lusting over a comfortable chair she saw in a corner.  I would recommend it to anyone wanting to attend the show or just have a lovely holiday in Wales.
Judges Salukis was Mr. Age Gjetnes from Norway. He chose for his DCC, BOB, Goulden’s Ch Fernlark By Design JW with the RDCC to Mr G & Mrs S Littlechild’s Classicus Baroque At Ravensett.  BCC went to Ch Canerikie Catalina owned by Mansell, Duddell & Johnston partnership with RBCC to Elaine Sydney’s Multi Ch Daxlore Harani of Shaybani Esp J Ch. Best Puppy was Dr P. Postman & Mr D Smith’s Fernlark Odyssy.

Congratulations to Phyllida Cooke on the birth of her first granddaughter, Tallulah Cooke.
