SALUKI BREED NOTES WEEKENDING 26THAPRIL 2019.

A busy week in the dog showing calendar.  On Saturday the Hound Association of Scotland held their championship show with Colin Ashmore judging.  DCC, BOB went to Jeannette Glaister’s Ch Vanechka Otis S Berega Turi (IMP RUS) with the RDCC to Adele Walton Haddon’s Amal Hayati Ohdedar El Azizi Fuadi of Ilsham JW.  BCC for her first CC and sister to the dog winner, went to Liana Phillips’ Vidana Amira’s Verega Turi (IMP RUS) ShCM.  She was born on the 2ndNovember 2015 and her breeder is Elena Potemkina. Her sire is SWE Ch Classicus Khalil’s Canta and dam, Multi Ch Kamila Djilal Lhilal.  RBCC went to Alan Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Goose.  Best Puppy was Mrs E. Rooney’s Alishamar Raven at Zeatana (IMP BEL).  Best Junior was John Walton Haddon’s Badavie Don Peppino and Best Veteran went to the Cowies’ Ch Mumtaz Hercules ShCM.

On Sunday the SGHC held their Limited Show.  The show was well attended with a few new members making their debut.  It was nice to see some old faces around the ring. The kitchen was a busy spot, well manned by Berni Hetherington and Michael Williams.  We thank them for their hard work.
Mid- day a representative from the Kennel Club turned up to vet our show.  He was very happy with everything he saw and has given us an ‘excellent’ report.

Our judge was Pip Buswell.  She chose for her Best Bitch, Best in Show, Anna & Ben Freegard’s Jazalle Athena For Mumtaz (beautifully handled by Mia, a 5 year old with great handling skills)with Reserve Best in Show to Hilary Davies & Christine Harrison’s Classicus Alchemy For Charrioak.  Best of Opposite
Sex went to Diane Layton-Smith’s Elviis Al Noushafarin Velourias (IMP AUS).  Best Veteran was Mrs Hilary Davies’ Charrioak Nunki.

After the Limited show, The SGHC held their AGM.  Ballots for the Club shows are as follows:  Championship show 2021 will be Denise Rogers.  Open Show 2020 Carolyn McCormick Smith and Limited Show 2020, Susan Rhodes.

Southampton & District Canine Association will be holding their Open Show on Saturday 20thJuly with classes supported by the SGHC. Lorraine Fitzgerald will be judging and she has three classes.  Schedules from the Hon. Treasurer
Mrs P Ayling on tel. 02380 275418 or on-line from Fosse Data.

Pleased to read that Seresto Flea Collars are now available without prescriptions. Not really sure why they needed a prescription in the first place.  I do recommend they highly as they have kept out dogs tick free for the last few years.
