John Walton Haddon has been appointed the Breed Education Coordinator by the Northern Saluki Club and The Saluki or Gazelle Hound Club.  In that position he attended the first KC training day which was on 15thJuly.   He is now commencing work on implementing their requirements in order that the transition to the Judges Competency Framework runs as smoothly as possible.

He would like to hear from anyone who would like to be considered as a mentor or observer, these are important roles within the system and he is happy to explain the roles more fully if anyone requires it.   Also, anyone who is considering embarking on judging and requires mentoring will need to give him their details.  Further details will be outlined on the Club’s newsletters but if you would like more information from John please contact him on tel. 01909 731565 or email jwhaddon@hotmail.com

Nicola Warner has more DNA kits available.  If your dog(s) have been not DNAed then please ask her for a kit.  The purpose of this is to establish a data base for the future.  We have participated in this for many years firstly the efforts of Daphne Tovey, then Maya Monk-Schenk and latterly through the efforts of David Steel.  We do not know what the data will be used for but with the AHT it is in good hands for the future.

On the Open Show front Alan Bloomfield has written that his Glenoak Laquan went BOB & G3 at the Cheviot & Berwick Canine Society Open Show.  The judge was Kristen Theobald.  Well done to him

Further afield at the Latvia Sighthound show Martina Skadrova and Edoardo Scosta’s Tazillah Yaron won Best Male on 3 days and on the last day went BOB. We miss you both and hope you come back here some day.  Martina and Edoardo departed from the UK in October to live in Finland.
