Last Monday, along with about six other salukiphiles we attended the funeral of Phyllida Cooke. The ceremony was held in the most beautiful little chapel next to where Phyllida lived. There was standing room only as many wanted to say a final good bye. After the chapel service we went back to the family house for tea. It was lovely seeing all the photos and painting which were part of her history. Sebastian, her son, stated that the memorabilia would remain with him as they were his legacy. He did give a set of ‘double slips’ which he said were the clubs, to Karen Fisher, who said she would pass on to the Club . The slips were in beautiful condition as Sebastian had oiled and polished them for their return.
