SALUKI BREED NOTES WEEKENDING 30TH JULY 2021

The following important message has been posted on behalf of The Saluki Welfare Fund.  “Saluki Welfare is seeking nominations to be tabled at the forthcoming AGM  for positions of Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary.  None of the current Officers wish to stand again and will be tendering their resignations at the AGM.  This advance notice is given to enable new people to be nominated to enable the Charity to keep functioning.
Nominations with a proposer and seconder should be sent as soon as possible to the Secretary, davidcrane@salukiwelfare.org.uk.”

The following was posted in last week’s notes but I am resending it as a reminder
’Saluki Welfare will be holding their AGM on Saturday 14th August subject to Government regulations. The meeting will commence at 1pm and is at the Drayton Village Hall, Lockway, Drayton, Abington OX14 4LF  Please wear a face covering.

Last weekend was very busy with two championship shows in one day.  We did
not attend but from all reports it was a good day for getting together after the long lockdown.  The down side was it was extremely hot.  So hot that there were reports of heat exhaustion and dehydration.  Some exhibitors were not able to go into the group as they were so unwell.  Thankfully most cars have air condition in then so they could have cooled down by the time they arrived home.

The first show was the Hound Association.  Judging Salukis was Hound Specialist Jerry Robertson.  DCC, BOB was Jeannette Glaister’s Ch Vanechka Otis S Berega Turi JW Sh CM ((MP RUS) with the RDCC Nicola Quadling’s Classicus Alron with Malenkhai.  BCC for her first CC went to Denise Garratt & Sue Oakey’s Caryna Remeny.  She was born on the 17th February 2019.  Her breeder is her owner.  Her sire is Caryna Eris and dam Ch Caryna Neferti. RBCC went to Mary Sanders Parker’s Ch Classicus Britannia JW Sh CM.  Best Puppy was Jeannette Glaister’s Impala Zia Dexter the Gambler (IMP USA).  Best Veteran went to Alexandra Cole and Stephen Bruynder’s El Ubaid Yaweh’s Gift and Best Special Beginners went to Linda Ward’s Caryna Manantena at Backtor
In the Viscount Chelmsford Memorial Stakes Classes congratulation to the Littlechild’s Ch Classicus Baroque at Ravensett for winning.

The second show was The Northern Saluki Club Championship Show.  Judging was Dr John Hudson (Glenoak Salukis). BCC, BOB and BIS was Mary Sanders Parkers Ch Classicus Britannia JW Sh CM with the RBCC to Anna & Ben Freegard’s Mumtaz Asteria.  DCC for his first CC went to Christine Campling’s Classicus Octavius.  He was born on the 31st July 2019 and his breeder is Mary Sanders Parker.  His sire is Classicus Azim for Bodercot and Dam, Ch Noushzad Claudia-Classicus.
Best Puppy was Jeannette Glaister’s Impala Zia Dexter the Gambler (IMP USA).

Each show this year has different rules, one item of interest is tenting/gazebos.
Bath will be unbenched with tents and gazebos allowed up to 3 metre by 3 metre.
Paignton will be benched so not tents or gazebos
Bournemouth is unbenched with tents and gazebos allowed
Blackpool unbenched with tents and gazebos allowed
Driffield unbenched with tents and gazebos allowed
Richmond has applied to the KC for permission to not have benching but will have
Tents and gazebos.

Richmond Championship Show has posted the following” Due to ongoing delay with activation of the online entry portal the Kennel Club has granted us approval to extend the entry closing dates for the Society’s 2021 show which are now:
