In last week’s breed Notes I mentioned that we had just returned from the     United States, well we hardly had time to unpack our suitcases and we were off to Scotland.  Michael was judging at SKC.  We had a most uneventful trip driving up until, Michael realized somewhere around Manchester, that he had forgotten his judging outfit.  Fortunately he had a tweed jacket with him which we observed in watching ‘Queen of the Desert’ is a basic requirement of all Englishmen.  I can say categorically that the temperature here never reaches the temperatures one has to endure in the desert.

DCC, BOB and Hound Group 2 was Jeannette & Alan Glaister’s Ch Classicus Cassander JW Sh CM with the RDCC to Cecelia Andersson’s Alsahra Dakota.  BCC for her first CC went to Gloria Cook and Alan Burtenshaw’s Fernlark Snow Grouse at Daandaze JW, Sh CM. She was born on 16th July 2013 and her breeder is Ms S Steer.  Her sire is Ch Jorjengo Mirzam of Fernlare JW and dam, Fernlark Fleurie at Dawnchase .  RBCC went to Anne & Paul Shimmin’s Hislome’s Keepsake for Cranstal (Imp).  Best Puppy was Adele Haddon’s Amal Hayati Ohdedar El Azizi Fuadi (Imp Bel).

This turned out to be a very special day for Gloria Cook who has been very unwell in recent times.  She nearly had to sit in the car all day as getting into the show proved problematic with her health conditions.  She said the car park attendants were amazing and found her a space to park near the entrance to the show and offered her a wheel chair if she needed one.  She did manage to make it in the hall and was trilled when she and Alan collected their first CC, ever.

Congratulations to Jeannette & Alan Glaister on their Dexter becoming the breed record holder for the most CCs.  He now has 36 CCs. Without doubt it has not been easy with the many miles they have travelled early morning and late nights.  I think his journey is far from over.
