Thankfully there are no shows on for Salukis this week as we enter into
another ‘Heat Wave’.  Last week it was 25c and hot, this week the prediction 
is for 35c.  Even hotter.  Last week in Germany the Donaueschingen Sighthound show was held.  
We had intended to attend but had to cancel due to circumstances,
but with the high temperatures there, we, including dogs, would have been quite miserable.  
 I understand some people went, turned their cars around and left as it was so hot.  
 
Contrary to Mark Ord’s comments in ‘Our Dogs’ regarding the negativity of exhibitors, a small group
of exhibitors attended Bournemouth all friendly supporting
 each other. Even the Beagle owners who were in the ring after us were very affable even though
we were all crowded in together.  The greatest contrast from the previous Sunday was that at
Paignton when we were showing after 124 Whippets, Bournemouth, first in the ring at 9am. Not sure
which I prefer.  
 
Judging Salukis at Bournemouth was Ms Jenny Dove.  BCC, BOB was Debbie Coperthwaite’s Ch Alcaliphs
Belisama with the RBCC to our own Safeera Kasaqe Al Djiibaajah (IMP DEU).  DCC & BV went to Connie &
Lottie De Souza’s Caryna Taivoa for his 1st CC.  He was born 17th February 2019.   His breeders are
Mrs D Garratt & Miss S Oakey.  His sire is Caryna Eris & Dam, Ch Caryna Neferti JW  ShCM.
RDCC went to Linda Aldous’ & Jeannette Glaister’s Ch Jay Jp Sea Bird El Panjsher (MP JPN) JW. 
 
A reminder that South Eastern Hound Club’s Premier Open Show entries will be closing on 20th 
​August.  Breed Judge is Judith Ayrton with a good classification.
