A couple of weeks ago I stated 'Be careful of what you wish for" in regards
to the cold weather we were enduring.  So along came a heat wave with high temperatures
which are not usual for this country.  We were miserable again so we wished for
rain and cool.  Well, we are now back in warm rain coats again.  Maybe we should modify 
what we are wishing with , moderately warm, not hot and sunny weather please.

The Breed Records Supplements arrived this week. It is the Breed Records
Supplement from January to March 2026. My first shock when opening
the pages was to see that in this quarter there were zero new registrations
for Afghans.  Numerically in the past,  Afghans have been one of the strongest breeds
                                    in the Hound Group.  Last year for the first quarter for Salukis there were none.  This quarter,                               we have  2 litter registered , one with 6 puppies
and one with 1 puppy.  Only one do I recognise the breeders.  One importation,

A REMINDER TO ENTER THE OPEN SHOW WHICH WILL BE HELD 18TH JULY 2026
ALONG WITH THE HOUND ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW. 

 Schedules are available on fosse data.  The magazine stand will be there with a few 2026
magazines plus past copies. We have some lovely new items available from the estate of the
late Oonagh  Preece. Plus the lovely Gingerberry designed jewellery . Janet Steel
will be there to discuss bookings for adverts for the 2027 Crufts magazine.
This will be the third year the magazine has been produced through the editorship of Janet
.  As rules of the SGHC state the editor must be re-elected at the 2027 AGM.  If you
are interested in being the editor with term commencing 2028, I am sure Janet will give you                                                                        a full job description.  

This weekend Three Counties Championship Show was held.  Judging
Salukis was breed specialist Karen Fisher. The entry was marred with
absentees, 8.  I can only assume the the miserable wet weather and 
maybe the early start has dampened exhibitors spirit to attend.  DCC, BOB
pulled out in the Hound Group was Oxana Chippendale's Ch Flytesfield Hyddwn with
the RDCC to Darren & Monique Thomas' Bel/Lux Ch Sincerity Kalimantan Cashar (IMP FIN) JW.
BCC went to Debbie Copperthwaite's Ch Alcaliphs Belisama with RBCC and Best veteran to Ch                                            Classicus Alchemy for Chariot JW owned by John &  Hilary Davies. Congratulation to her on
​winning the Hound Veteran Group.
