  17TH JUNE 2016.

Sunday 19th June is a big day in the SGHC calendar.  There will be two shows held at the Dobermann Club Training Showground, Digswell, Herts AL6 0BU.
The first show will be the SGHC Open Show with Bernard Barjot from France judging the dogs followed by Sibylle Benoit from Belguim, judging the bitches.  The referee is Gabriele Schroeter from Germany.  In the lunch break there will be a barbeque open to all.  After lunch there will be a limited Show judge by Luke Johnston.  Entry for the Open Show is 90 and the Limited Show is 42.  Lunch will be provided for everyone attending the show but drinks are not included so please bring your own beverages.  Coffee, tea and cake will be available to purchase during the day.

Photos will be on display for judging for the 2017 SGHC Calendar.  Please remember to vote for you favorite photos.  There will be a raffle plus Helen Haywood will be there with the goodies to be purchased on behalf of the ‘rescue’.  Remember the Welfare is always looking for donations for their table.  Raffle prizes would be appreciated both for the Welfare and the Club raffle.  And please those that won trophies at either the Open show or Limited Show 2015, please remember to return them.

Today, Three Counties Championship Show was held.  The day started with pouring rain though fortunately we had good wet weather accommodations and the show was able to proceed pretty much as normal.  Our judge was Liz Stephen (Bedu Salukis).  Her BCC, BOB was Ch Al Caliphs Nuray owned by Kathy Webb.  Nuray is now 10 years old so it is a credit to her owner and herself that she can still compete and beat the upcoming youngsters.  RBCC, conversely went to the winner of the Junior Class, Canapus Rodinia at Savuka owned by Ms N Warner and Mr B Hetherington.  DCC for his third and qualify CC went to Kasaque Obidiah owned by Connie De-Souza and Heidi Woodgate.  Obi was born on the 31st October 2009 and his breeders are Michael and myself.  His sire is Ch Nefisa Jeevun Sh CM and his dam is Ch Caspians L’Aliq Avec Kasaque.  RDCC went to Jeannette and Alan Glaister’s Ch Classicus Cassander JW Sh CM.  Best Puppy was Buzz Faber’s Sufeina Against the Odds.  Buzz rang to say her puppy made the cut in the puppy group and was quite thrilled.

The winning of Obidiah’s 3rd CC is very special as he is a smooth Salukis.  He is actually the second smooth male to qualify for his title in the history of the Saluki Breed in the UK.  The first to achieve the title of champion was Kumasi Kommandan.  To give you a time frame, he was born on the 2nd February 1958, which is 58 years ago. Obi’s mother was also a smooth and as it happens a champion.  To say the least we are very proud of this achievement and thanks to Kathy Webb, Carol Seymour and Liz Stephen for having the courage of your convictions.
