Another Crufts is over.  It was a pleasure that Hounds and Terriers were exhibited on Thursday as the crowds were minimal.  A friend attended on Saturday and she said it was a nightmare trying to move from on area to another.  On the lighthearted side I understand there were no electric sockets
available during the show so someone sighted an exhibitor is the bath rooms using the sockets, there, to groom their dogs.  Life with Salukis is so simple.  Living with a smooth is even easier.

Judging us at Crufts was Mrs Denise Garratt.  She seemed to be enjoying her day very much.  She chose for her DCC, BOB Jeannette & Alan Glaister’s Ch Classicus Cassnder JW Sh CM with the RDCC to Fernlark By Design JW owned by Kevin & Michele Goulden.  BCC for her second CC went to Diane Layton-Smith’s Velourias Viva Vivienne with the RBCC to Hilary Davies and Christine Harrison’s Charrioak Sheerzam JW.  Best Puppy was Nicola Warner, Joanne Mahon and Felix Van Der Drift’s Canapus Requim (Imp NDL)
Best Veteran went to the Ham, Brockeman-Chato. Elliot-Ross partnership of Ch Baghdad Karim Sh CM. Well done all

The Salukis entered under a ATC number were a little down this year from last.  This year the entry was 123 Salukis with 16 entered a ATC number making a rounded off percentage of 20.

Mary Parker had the new books of Champions available on the day.  She still has copies left and will be taking them to the Northern Saluki Club Championship show; other wise they can be obtained by emailing Mary at  Classicussalukis@aol.com. The price is £15.00 plus postage.  Mary can be contacted by phone on 07423015858

At Crufts we received the schedule for the Northern Saluki Club Championship Show which is to be held on Sunday 23rd April 2017 at the Sharley Park Leisure Centre, Clay Cross, Chesterfield S45 9LX. Judging Salukis will be Anne Macdonald.  Entries close on Saturday 1st April or can be submitted to Higham Press before 12 noon on Wednesday 5th April.

Along with the schedule we received an invitation to celebrate the NSC’s Ruby Jubilee Weekend on the 21st and 22nd April 2018.  The venue for the 21st which will be the Championship show is at Sharley Park Leisure Centre and on the 22nd for the Ruby Jubilee Show and Companion Dog Show at the Derbyshire Hotel, South Normanton.  There will be a Gala dinner on the Saturday night.
