Well, the good news is that at the KC AGM the members voted not to increase fees especially when one considers items like the Breed Supplement, which we pay dearly for, is 6 months out of date.  There have been many serious complaints
Directed at the KC at this time.  For the most part it seems that the KC representative attending championship shows have sorted out most of the problems.

The SGHC has launched additional items to help with their fund raising for the Centennial next year.  At Southern Counties Championship Show the Club brought out their first item which was a bone china mugs with the centennial logo.  At Windsor Championship Show, t-shirts and hats with the logo were available to purchase.  The mugs are going for £10.00 each, hats, £12.50 and shirts at £15.00.  Items can be purchased by contacting Jeannette Glaister on aljegsaluki@gmail.com. Her telephone number is 0797 1079642.  Items will be able to be viewed on the Centennial site on facebook and the Club’s web site.  The items are all lovely and by purchasing them you will be rewarded back by helping our Centennial year.

Paignton and District Fanciers Association, on their fb page have announced that they are holding a raffle…”This year every entrant will be entered into a free prize draw the winning number will be refunded their fuel cost.  Fuel receipts will need to be provided and roughly match the estimate from the address on the entry form”. [

South West Essex Canine Open Show is being held on Monday 29th August.  Only on-line entries for this show.  Entries close Sunday 7th August , judging will be Lisa Tyler-Jackson. All those shows are available on Fosse Data.
Bournemouth Canine Association will be holding an Open Show on Friday 12th August at Pikes Farm, the day before there Championship Show starts.  Salukis will be judged by Mrs L Spence.  Schedules for this are available through Higham Press.

Last week Blackpool Championship Show was held with Avril Lancashire judging.  She chose for her BCC, BOB Mary Sanders Parker’s Ch Classicus Olympia with the RBCC to Canerikie Chiquitta owned by Josh Duddell and Luke Johnston.  DCC for his first CC went to Nicola Qualdling’s Classicus Odysseus with Malenkhai.  He was born on the 20th February 2018 and his breeders is Mrs M Sanders Parker.  His sire is Multi Ch/Int Ch Elamir Amar and his dam is Ch Khalils Allegra-Classicus (IMP SWE).  Best Veteran was Velourias Agent Velvet owned by Mr A & Mrs M Hudson.

It was good to be back at Windsor Championship Show after the extra long break.  For those of you who may not remember, last year’s Windsor Show was cancelled due to a double booking.  Instead of a dog show it was a horse show.  Showers had been promised for the day but it started off quite overcast.  As soon as the judging was completed the heavens opened up and it was pouring down. I understand when the Hound Group was called in later there was a great roar of thunder.  Personally, I am happy not to be in a field in a thunder and lightning storm.  Judging Salukis this year was Colin Ashmore.  BCC, BOB was Mary Sanders Parker’s Ch Classicus Olympia with the RBCC to the Garrett, Oakey, Owen partnership’s Glenoak Lunah from Caryna.  DCC went to Sarah Sawer’s Ch Canerikie Lucan at Bumpkiss.  RDCC was Adele Haddon’s Badavie Don Peppino at Ilsham (IMP).  Best Veteran went to Marie Bryce-Smith’s Ch Kasaque Ra Frankel of Saruk.

Next show, East of England, good luck to all those attending.
